CONNECTED OR ISOLATED?

You see, a connection can be anything you want it to be. What if you chose today to take one step outside your comfort zone, and smile and say hello to a stranger (or three, if you’re feeling brave!) That’s growing your comfort zone and moving in the right direction.
THROW YOUR ARMS AROUND ME
Let me explain what led me to write this post. This morning, I was listening to the brilliant Hunters and Collectors song “Throw Your Arms Around Me” while I was sweeping, and I thought “Wow - what would it take for me to have more of THAT in my life?”
And that led to another thought - “What could I throw my arms around today and how could that expand my life?”So my question to you is “What could you throw your arms around today?” It could be your lover, family, friends, colleagues, pets, things that you treasure in your life (your home, car, clothes, books, plants) or perhaps it’s people in your community.
And once you think about what you could throw your arms around, think about how that could impact your life and living. Would it lift your spirits, make you feel happier, or make you feel loved?
WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF A HUG?
Then the third aspect of this exercise is presuming you follow through with this plan and go out and throw your arms around something or someone, what impact do you think that might have on that person or thing? You see, this kind of exercise is a two-way street - it impacts both the giver and the receiver. Do you think it might bring a smile to their face or brighten their day?
You see, sometimes when things are not always going smoothly, it’s far too easy to focus on the “problem” rather than asking what is possible. And it can be as simple as asking a few little questions like: “What would I like to throw my arms around?” “What would that feel like?” And then making a new choice - choosing to open up your arms and in the process, open up your heart.
